Biweekly Fruit Share (Summer 2016)

Biweekly fruit shares are delivered every other week starting the week of July 11th. Each delivery contains an assortment of 3 to 4 different kinds of fruit. Throughout the season you will receive blueberries, peaches, plums, grapes, nectarines, raspberries, apples, pears, blackberries, apricots, and cherries. Your fruit is selected by us based on what is fresh and ready-to-pick that particular week. We pay special attention to creating well-balanced fruit boxes and to making sure our boxes are as varied as possible from week to week.

The fruit is grown by the Klug family near St. Joseph, Michigan. The Klugs use a growing system called Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Farmers who use the IPM approach conduct extensive monitoring of insect and disease problems to ensure that a synthetic pesticide or fungicide is only used as a last resort and only in the smallest quantity necessary. This approach minimizes the impact on the natural environment.

A typical fruit share might contain:

Early Summer: 1 pint blueberries, 1 quart sweet cherries, 1 pint raspberries
Late Summer: 1 quart seedless grapes, 1 pint plums, 2 pounds apples, 1 pound Asian pears-----------------------------------

The Biweekly Fruit Share starts the Week of July 11, 2016 (7 deliveries total)
