Dairy Share (Fall 2016)

    Your every-other-week delivery will include:
  • 1 Quart of rBGH-Free Yogurt
Our farmstead yogurt is made for us by the Rapson family at Country View Dairy using minimally-processed, non-homogenized milk produced by their own herd of cows. Once the cows have been milked, a pipeline takes the fresh milk directly from the milk house to their state-certified yogurt facility 200 feet away. Building a dairy-processing facility right on their farm has allowed the Rapsons to bypass the commodity market and to make their farm an economically sustainable business for the next generation.
  • 8-Ounce Container of Handmade Butter
Al and Sarah Bekkum of Nordic Creamery make a variety of seasonal butters in a small but state-of-the-art building on their dairy farm in southwestern Wisconsin. We work with Al and Sarah because theirs is the best butter we've ever tasted. It is made in small batches a couple of times a week and hand-packed to order so that it's as fresh as it can possibly be. We also work with Al and Sarah because we believe strongly in the importance of agricultural diversity in rural areas.
  • A Selection of 2 Artisan Cheeses (approximately 1 lb total)
Our cheeses are made for us by licensed Wisconsin dairy artisans located in the beautiful countryside surrounding our Brodhead farm. We focus on cheeses that are made with the milk of pasture-grazed cows, goats and sheep. Throughout the season members enjoy white cheddar, gruyere, swiss, chevre, parmesan, monterey jack, fresh sheep cheese, gouda, feta and more.

Fall dairy shares are picked up from one of our neighborhood pickup sites every other week starting the week of October 17, 2016. There are a total of 3 pickups during the fall season. Your exact pickup dates will depend on where you decide to pick up your shares.
